A mirror that opens is one of the few pieces of bathroom furniture that genuinely earns its wall space twice. This one measures 22.2 in wide by 23 in high and projects only 5.1 in from the wall, shallow enough that it sits above a sink without anyone knocking their head on it while leaning in to brush their teeth. The door front is the mirror, so nothing about the room changes visually when the cabinet is closed. Behind it, the interior takes the daily collection of small things that otherwise colonize the edge of the basin, which is where toothpaste tubes and contact lens cases usually end up. Getting them behind a door is most of what makes a bathroom look tidy, and a mirror cabinet does it without adding a single visible object to the room. The cabinet is built in Mdf and weighs 13.7 lb, light enough that mounting it is a manageable job for one person with the right wall fixings. At 5.1 in deep it stays clear of the space in front of the sink, which is the usual complaint with deeper wall cabinets. Fitted above a standard basin, it returns a mirror and a closed cupboard for the wall area that a plain mirror would have used on its own.
