Sorting laundry at the point it comes off is the only version of sorting that actually happens. Four compartments means darks, lights, delicates, and towels each have a place as the clothes are dropped in, rather than everything going into one bag and being separated on a floor later, which nobody does more than twice. The hamper measures 38.8 in long by 13 in wide and stands 31.7 in tall. That width is shallow enough to line a bathroom or utility wall without blocking the route past, and the length is what allows four bags side by side rather than stacked. A top shelf rated to 44 lb sits above the bags, which turns the hamper into a working surface as well as storage. Detergent, folded clean laundry, or a basket all go on top at a usable height. Each large basket carries 17.6 lb and each small one 8.8 lb, with a total static capacity of 106 lb across the unit. Particleboard and steel with oxford fabric bags brings the assembled weight to 19.4 lb, light enough to move when the floor underneath needs cleaning.
