Two compartments is the sorting most households actually do. Three and four-way sorters assume a level of discipline that rarely survives a busy week, while darks and lights is a split people maintain because it is the one that matters for the wash. The hamper measures 34.3 in long by 13 in wide and stands 31.7 in tall, with each basket rated to 17.6 lb. A top shelf carries 44 lb, which is where detergent and folded clean washing go, and small lower shelves at 11 lb each hold the smaller items. Total static capacity across the unit is 101 lb.Wheels mean the whole thing goes to the washing machine rather than requiring the baskets to be carried. In a house where the laundry is upstairs and the machine is not, that is the difference between a hamper that gets emptied on schedule and one that overflows. Particleboard and steel with oxford fabric brings the assembled weight to 19 lb, light enough that a full hamper still rolls without effort.
