About the Author As a retired school counselor and therapist, John Jurchak has enjoyed writing for young people. He has published a number of books, and these stories always reach for a deeper meaning, even in fictional works such as Vita. This author's creativity also has found expression in being a story teller with his own five children and eight grandchildren. Along with his love for writing, John enjoys hiking, gardening, and traveling with his wife, Penny. They currently live near Charlotte, North Carolina.
