I used my life savings to get as far away from my hometown as possible. After getting unceremoniously booted from the coven in which I'd toiled the last seven years of my life, I had to go somewhere new, somewhere no one knows me. Now I'm here, in this suppurating ulcer of a town, with barely enough money to buy a cup of hot chocolate. It can't possibly get any worse. It can, though. Oh, yes, in my world, everything can always get worse. That's the one thing I can always count on. How could I have been so stupid not to notice bear shifters walking all over the place? Now I'm accused of murder and on the run for my life from a bloodthirsty killer out to destroy me. What did I ever do to deserve this?
