Turn Back the Clocks

From Ponce de León to Dorian Gray to Benjamin Button, the quest for eternal youth has been a recurring theme in literature. Now it has a new face: Not long after her 65 birthday, Diane notices subtle changes in her deteriorating body and begins to wonder if her fondest wish has been granted. Perhaps she has truly stopped aging. In fact, she seems to be growing younger While she savors this unexpected rejuvenation, she wonders if it comes with a dark side. Could the process suddenly reverse? Could it kill her? But she's having fun! The admiration of younger men makes Diane feel great, clothes look fabulous, and she's killing it at the gym. Slowly, however, things go terribly wrong. Her normally caring personality alters, her values shift, and her husband and family feel they don't even know the "new and improved" Diane. Finally, she ends up attracting unwanted attention from her best friend's boyfriend. Although Diane's flattered, even tempted, she's also frightened. She realizes this "gift" could cost her everything, including her marriage and lifelong friendships. What should she do?
