Trod With Me: A COMPILATION OF POEMS IN STANDARD ENGLISH AND JAMAICAN DIALECT

Trod With Me is a collection of poems written in both Standard English and in the Jamaican dialect. The poems are written with the expressed hope and intent to motivate, inspire, and bring much laughter to uplift, relax, and soothe both mind and body in these and other stressful times and situations. The poems take a serious and realistic as well as a comical look at life in and through various forms and lens. They are reflections of the thoughts and life experiences I have encountered at an individual level as well as through the lives of others known and/or close to me and to friends. They are in no way meant to poke fun at, or to deride anyone alive or dead. Life is a journey, sometimes it's hectic other times it's easy going and free, and good, but we must tread it with caution. The poems are meant to appeal to those attributes. We must have great beliefs in ourselves and be role models for others. We must not engage in negativity but 'Trod' on and move ahead with a positive vibe, doing all the good we can to others, while trusting the Creator for guidance, protection, and deliverance, as we seek to overcome the obstacles, glooms, and despairs that often cloud our paths. Remember the past is where we learn the lesson, the future is where you apply the lesson. Don't give up in the middle. With great pleasure and excitement I penned these poems to let you all know that broken things can become blessed when we allow God to do the mending. I hope they will help to remove the doldrums, open the mind, excite or soothe the emotions, encourage and uplift the spirit. With those same passions TROD WITH ME I invite you to arm yourself with an open mind and a warm spirit as you 'Trod with Me' through the pages of this manuscript.
