This thesis deals with the form of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy in sheep known since the 18th century, also known as scrapie or scrapie disease. The paper examines both the classic and the new form, atypical scrapie. Among other things, the different manifestations are compared in terms of their causes and symptoms, and an overview of prevention options is provided.
