, a beautiful young woman, who could have been just your every-day-next-door-neighbor, in the prime of her youth, is tested and, challenged to the very core of her being. She made a conscious choice to lean upon the Rock of all Ages. With scores of witnesses looking on, the result is astounding. Karen was my only daughter, whose hopes and dreams were unrealized when she became paralyzed from a deadly, aggressive breast cancer. As I cared for her, I was blessed each day by all that I was learning. Each night before she retired she would look up at me with bright eyes and says: "Thank you mom, for sticking it out with me." We shared a home, and together, we have seen the sunshine, as well as the low-hanging clouds. And her passing has been the darkest cloud ever.
