Originally written for Christians living in Asia Minor (Turkey), First Peter is a book of spiritual guidance. Christians who believed in Jesus Christ were being persecuted. While Peter did not reside in Asia Minor, there is debate on where he resided during this time, he knew firsthand the suffering associated with following Jesus.
