This book is about a normal guy taking on an extraordinary challenge. The most compelling aspect of the book for me was Cormican's honesty about his feelings and inner thought process as the mammoth task across Europe developed. On his journey he encounters many difficulties but his 'can do' attitude and his love of experiencing exciting new places comes across on every page. The content of this book is a triumph for the everyday guy who wants to do something adventurous but never quite gets round to it. After reading 'To St. Petersburg With Love' you have the overwhelming feeling that maybe that adventure that was in the back of your mind is possible after all!
