Birdie Forrester, a 32-year-old psychiatrist living in Dallas, Texas, decides that it is time for a fresh start when she discovers her husband's infidelity. She packs up and returns to her home state of Colorado to rebuild her life. Upon settling into her new life, Birdie takes a position at Mountain Bloom Psychiatric Facility. Here, she encounters Jesse Porter, a troubled teenager who claims that ghosts took the lives of his family. As their sessions continue and Birdie continues listening to Jesse's stories, strange events begin to unfold within her home, making her question the safety of her new environment.
