The character Rosita is telling the real-life story of the author Faustina Mullings. Faustina is a born-again Christian who is happily married to Mr. Kenneth Mullings. Together, they have five children. She was born in the beautiful Caribbean isle, St. Vincent. In 2011. Faustina migrated to Toronto, Canada where she obtained her Social Service Worker diploma at Humber College. Currently, she pursues a bachelor's degree in Humanities at York University. Faustina shares her story through the eyes of Rosita, to inspire children to have hope and courage to follow their dreams. Faustina's book sends the positive message to not let your current position dictate the outcome of your future. She believes that we are more than capable of accomplishing whatever our heart desires. Through all of Rosita's hardships, she didn't allow circumstances to cause her to think less of herself. Rosita is a , character that isn't afraid to pave her own path. Many times in her life people have tried to convince her to lower her expectations and to work toward something more realistic. She was told on many occasion give up on her visions because can't happen. However, she didn't let that stop her from going after her dreams. She won't allow anyone or anything to keep her hostage. She strongly believe that she is only capable of dreaming things she can actually accomplish. If she can believe, she can become it or achieve it. Unfortunately, sometime the achievement of our dreams can be hampered by our circumstances, our surroundings, and even our own mindset. Believe it or not, to succeed, we must be able to draw on the passion that ignites our dream, to tap into the determination and discipline that will help us to make the right decision along the way, and to share no effort in our pursuit of the goals that will form the foundation of a greater life.
