Darkness has spread over the land, gravely attempting to shroud the light, which Roger and the others offer to a desperate and oppressed people. After returning from Mount Seir the small band was sent to the corners of Humos, sharing the hope and love which Shauye had given them when he restored the great orb to its pedestal deep within the mountain. Many had chosen to align themselves with the life pulse of the planet and had taken up the teachings of the ancient fathers as revealed in the scrolls. As the long prophesied Herald, Roger proclaimed the solution to the Curse to all who would listen, and at first, he and his friends were received warmly. Life was improving for all of the inhabitants of Humos and the full restoration appeared imminent.However, as the number of adherents grew and the evidence of the planet being restored became more apparent, the opposition to The Code and Roger also grew. Deep within the palace the Sultan sits, frightened by the prospect of revolution and being overthrown. He has launched a covert assault on those who follow The Code and is seeking to capture and destroy Roger. As a result, the small band has retreated from public view and gone into hiding. While the feeble attempts of the Sultan have had limited impact, Vlixdarc has been executing his own, sinister plan, recognizing the threat of Roger and the others.
