The Uncrowned King

In the foreign land of Illena, Leo finds himself with the offer of a country at his feet. With his siblings in tow, he spends his days navigating a new world of finery set on pushing his family out. As the ghost of a brother left behind and the thoughts of a girl who refused to escape never cease to haunt him, the weight of a country hangs heavily over his head. When a group of criminals take interest in Leo and his siblings, they must decide whether to trust the people who mirror their former lives in Somereil or turn towards the Bloodlines-Illena's elite-and start anew. Leo is finally able to fall into an easy trust with his new allies, but he soon discovers a truth that tears his family apart and forces him to choose between his head and his heart. Just as Leo begins to see a future in Illena, past enemies soon emerge from the darkness with a promise of blood. While he and his family fight for their freedom, it becomes impossible to find a haven to protect the little they have left. When fierce foes tear those Leo cares about from his grip, his mind begins to sink deeper into despair. Will he overcome the odds and be the hero Illena desperately needs, or will he fuel the flames consuming the peace they'd given so much to attain and become the monster they always feared?
