To engage employees, manager rated and employees perception of Human Resource management matter a lot. More specifically, top managers are far apart from employees in another words line managers are more closer than top managers. So that line managers role of HRM is more affecting on the employees' engagement rather than top managers. The second side of HRM is that not only line managers rating of HRM but also employees their own perception matters the level of engagement. Hence, employees' engagement can be affected much more better than manager rating of HRM. To sum up both manager-rated HRM and perceived HRM matter a lot on the engagement of employees.
