When a foreign student from India gets entangled with many unforeseen issues and becomes horribly depressed, his American roommate helps him all the way to the recovery. A brotherly bond ensues, and that bond continues to grow even after the American student graduates and starts his own family life. When circumstances demand return of the favor, the Indian student executes it with a smiling face. He throws himself on the line, the bullets blazing toward his former roommate, now a cop, and saves his beloved brother’s life. About the Author The author came to the United States about forty years ago as a graduate student. He is now a retired faculty member. As a graduate student, he shared his room in the dorm and in the apartments with American graduate students. As a faculty member, he has worked with a very large number of American and foreign students as advisor and instructor. Thus, he has developed a good understanding of the artificial barriers between multiple cultures. He likes to promote understanding among the younger generation so that they can reap the benefits of multicultural cultures and live with an enriched understanding of humankind. The author wants to promote friendship between American students and the foreign students from all over the world with the deepest possible compassion. He thinks that friendship is the true flagship for spreading long lasting democratic values throughout the world.
