This book is the autobiography of a native Montana pioneer whose life has spanned parts of two centuries. She watched her parents battle the drought of the 1920s, finally moving from the dryland hi-line area of northern Montana to the greener pastures near central Montana's city of Lewistown. She remembers the struggle to travel on that journey of almost two-hundred miles by horse and wagon to reach their Promised Land. There, on a beautiful ranch, her carefree childhood centered on days when she and her siblings rode horses and played in the limitless spaces of the ranch. But, difficult times returned and her family worked hard to survive the Great Depression and the impact of World War II. From her little town of Heath, she saw airmen train at a nearby B17 aircraft facility as they prepared to be sent to Europe. After marrying and raising four children, her stories of both joy and tremendous loss are memorable and show us how she leaned on her faith to carry her through. Now, at age ninety, she recalls the paths of her life's journey and gives insight and perspective to those of us who, like her beloved grandchildren, have yet to complete our journey. She has spent the last fifty-plus years of her life in Kalispell, Montana.
