The Story About Karl

The Story About Karl is a biography of Bob Wendorf's eldest son, Karl, who died of bone cancer a few days before his twentieth birthday. It is a chronicle of his, and his family's, horrendous, yet in some ways heroic struggle...not just against a fearsome, ferocious- and ultimately victorious- disease, but to maintain a nearly normal and meaningful life. More, this story tells how Karl turned his ordeal into a mission and a purpose, and how, in doing so, he recreated his very self and inspired hundreds of others.
