The Sorrows of Transience

Logan doesn't entirely remember how he ended up living in Tennessee, but he does know that he hates it here. Aside from living with an aunt who barely seems to have time for him and an inability to connect with anyone his age, Logan knows that there are people hunting for him - he just can't remember who. Despite this, he never has to question the necessity of trying to stay hidden. Not when he has Aniel to remind him of unknown dangers almost every waking moment. At times Logan wishes other people could see or hear his guardian, so they could take a turn telling him to shut up. Hunted by unknown shadows and harassed by well-meaning protectors, Logan has to try to pretend all is well. Yet all the while, somewhere deep in the dark of his mind there is a door without a handle. Now something on the other side is scratching at the wood.
