The Sorcerer and the Crystal Staff

Science fiction/fantasy thriller. The characters are based on real people but the story is completely unique and original. A quiet little village gets attacked by horrific beasts. The village has to defend and even revenge for the havoc and devastation that ensured without cause. This sets some of the chosen individuals on a path with the most unimaginable challenges, but there is no turning back. They have to do what is right despite the cost and low probability of success. This is the first book of the trilogy.
