The Shapeshifter's War

The world's greatest empires are on the verge of war. At a time when they desperately require strong, capable leadership, Athau and Zon are instead saddled with two less-than-competent sixteen-year-olds: hesitant Empress Hadeel and bombastic King Kardin. To make matters worse, a mysterious force takes control of the war for its own malevolent purposes; and dragons, elves, and dark secrets aplenty get dragged into the mix. In this uniquely crafted adventure, the fifteen authors breathe new life, nuance and depth with each new chapter as the book, and the war, runs its course and nigh spins out of control. In the 2013-2014 school year, thirteen high school juniors and two high school seniors from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School's chapter of National English Honor Society, the Bohemia Chapter, decided they would write and publish a novel. At their head was Chapter Secretary Samantha Wathugala, who organized the enterprise. In addition to contributing to the overall concept, the fifteen authors each wrote at least one chapter for a total of eighteen. Samantha formatted and edited the interior, Ellen He designed the cover, William Whittenbury drew the map, and Genna Abele significantly helped Samantha with revisions. The synthesis of fifteen styles and insights into one cohesive plot creates a unique reading experience you don't want to miss.
