the Scarecrow and Crow

In THE SCARECROW AND THE CROW, a young scarecrow seeks to learn what the world is like beyond the tall mountains surrounding the wheat field which he is guarding against crows. Since his feet are stuck in the ground and he is therefore unable to travel and find out for himself, he asks a crow whom he befriends to tell him what the world is like. There is a surprise ending when the crow returns from a long winter journey and tells the scarecrow what she has learned about the world.
