The Ocean Waves Collection

The by is the most aptly named recording in their vast catalog. These are all previously issued tunes, but digitally remastered and assembled by lone founding member as a theme collection -- no group in history has done as much of this as . These five cuts are remastered pristinely, but with the exception of at over 20 minutes, there isn't much here that has any real pulse, or stretches out in any convincing manner the way the band does at their best. This is mostly '80s-era material and it is soundscaped nearly perfectly; but that doesn't necessarily make it a compelling listen. Hardcore heads will snag it though, and that's really all that matters. New age music fans may dig some of this as well. ~ Thom Jurek
