This book is unlike any that has been written on Norse Mythology. This is partly owing to the translation of Rydbert's Teutonic Mythology and of the Younger Edda, and the translation of Saemund's Edda made it possible to form a definite conception of the cosmography of the mythology, and also because Rydbert clears away many inconsistencies that have long clung to it.
