SAMPLE - PLEASE NOTE: The "Sample" link above is not long enough to include any poems so several poems from the book are included below: (click the "Show More" link) ************************************** The Improvisation The sun returned this morning from its journey Around this blue celestial sphere Bathing the sky in a rosy glow Clouds are floating lazily like flamingo feathers in a pool of golden light Life is singing all around The Divine improvisation that never stops for applause The tapestry of mountain stream and skylark melody Woven only to adorn the Silence from which it springs Mountain Stream Laughing The sound of a mountain stream laughing in the canyon Is the joyful song of yielding and the free-flow of surrender Spontaneous streaming of a water song rings like liquid wind-chimes Pouring freely from the well of Nature's singing heart Thimble Heart There is no room in here It's so full of me there is no room for You Help me to pour myself out through the window of this poem So You Who can pour the ocean into a thimble May pour Your love into my heart Liquid Mirror The surface of the water became still Like a liquid mirror And I saw the reflection of a wondrous world A world I had never seen A world I live in every day but had never seen Until the water became still Kiss The Starry Night I throw open my arms to the sky My whole being kisses the starry night The lantern of the moon hangs like a pearl In the ink black stillness of the night ocean above Pale ashen moonlight falls like silk on barren trees All these words Just language dancing with creation Words and language are only candles telling tales of the Sun Copyright 2011 Gordon Burnham
