Pearson examines British children’s literature during the period widely regarded as a ‘second golden age’, giving particular attention to children’s book publishing. Making use of archival resources, she explores the careers of influential children’s book editors, surveys the factors that contributed to children’s literature publishing in the 1960s and 1970s, and draws parallels between this second golden age and later developments in children’s book publishing.
