Jessica Johnson, known as JJ, faces a lonely life after the recent death of her grandmother, Florence, who raised her. From Minneapolis, where she is working on her Ph.D. in meteorology and making ends meet as a substitute teacher, Jessica feels trapped in a routine with no clear direction.
