A train trip from Wilmington, North Carolina, to Roanoke, Virginia turns into a test of survival for eight-year-old twins, Faith and Tilley Hall. In the spring of 1875, the girls are traveling to meet a grandmother they did not know, with a father they had just met. It is only a hundred yards from the passenger to the dining car. Along that short walk with their father, the girls vanish. The four-book series takes place in southern Bedford County Virginia, at Paradise Plantation, the abandoned farm the girls learn to call home. They not only find their home, but they will find a family, with love so strong they will never be lost again.
