For me, Psalms 23 is not just a chapter in the bible, it is a revelation waiting not only to be grasped, but experienced. It is the revelation of who God really is to His people. It is the divine love looking for a recipient. It is the heartbeat of God towards mankind. It is God giving Himself freely as a gift to humanity. It is Elohim revealing His divine nature in a loving and beautiful way, so man doesn't see Him as an unapproachable God, but a God who seeks intimate relationship with mankind. Psalms 23 is a love-book that reveals the intimate relationship between a helpless frail sheep and a powerful loving shepherd. It reveals the indisputable nature of the loving Father who constantly seeks intimate relationship with His child. It is God shouting out and calling His children into a deeper realm of total trust and absolute dependence on Him. It is the Father with overflowing blessings, looking for someone open and ready enough, so He could pour out the blessings on him. The reason for this book is to draw us away from seeing God as an unapproachable being somewhere in the galaxies, with an iron-rod waiting for us to make mistakes, so He could hit us, and to bring us into the realm of seeing Him as a loving Father who doesn't mind to go any length to make sure we are happy, a father who totally is in love with us. This love is shown through Christ, when He left the glorious comfort of heaven to walk through the dusty road of this wicked world in search of us, just to reconcile us back to God.
