The plays on the list are nominated by influential new play leaders—Artistic Directors, Literary Managers, Professors, Producers, Directors, and Dramaturgs —with the most recommended plays earning a place on the list. Founded in 2013, The Kilroys was created by a group of playwrights and producers in LA. The namesake “The Kilroys” originated from the World War II graffiti tag “Kilroy Was Here” The tagline used by The Kilroys is “ We Make Trouble and Plays.”
