The Jefferson Mysteries: Declaration of Independence

This book continues the story of Beverly Hemings begun in "The Jefferson Mysteries, Volume one, Slave Life." That book ended when Beverly left Monticello. This book picks up his story as he adjusts to life as a free man. Beverly's life at Monticello left him emotionally immature and ill informed. He had to deal with these problems as he sought a normal life with a measure of happiness. After he started a family, he became engaged in the slavery debate. He debated this subject passionately. This debate revealed several interesting findings.
