Clara's entire family and many town's people died in a cholera epidemic in 1829 when she was nine years old. Because she predicted these deaths and many more during her lifetime, she was deemed a witch. Town's people feared her and she was left to fend on her own for her entire life. She vowed revenge on the entire Martin family line for one man's actions against her and for the next two centuries she exacted that revenge in the form of Martin family tragedies, family losses and murders
