The House Lordship Lane

: Julius Ricardo has arranged passage from Brittany across the English Channel at the request of his friend, Inspector Hanaud. In the midst of a ferocious storm, they rescue Bryan Devisher, which may or may not be his name, who has fallen, or perhaps jumped overboard from a prison ship. Devisher holds a grudge against Daniel Horbury, M.P., and when Horbury is found dead at his home in Lordship Lane, Devisher, or whatever his name is, becomes the prime suspect. As you might expect, Inspector Hanaud and Ricardo assist Scotland Yard in the investigation, which, curiously enough, also involves the owner of a shipping line. What's that all about? What a work of art a thriller can be!
