The Heroin Busters

"Blue Underground completes their trilogy of Enzo G. Castellari crime thrillers with this fine disc. The Heroin Busters (known in Italy as La Via Della Droga) offers an anamorphic, letterboxed transfer of the film that boasts strong colors and crisp detail. The audio portion of the disc uses the English dub for the film -- an Italian track would have been nice for the sake of completeness, but the English track is a solid one and thankfully David Hemmings does his own dubbing. The extras are sparse, but each one counts. The first is a fun European theatrical trailer (note: said trailer gives away some of the film's surprises, so first-time viewers should watch it after the film). The other, more substantial extra is a commentary track featuring Castellari and his son, Andrea Girolami, along with moderator David Gregory. This track is quite entertaining because Castellari is an engaging speaker and quick to dispense all manner of interesting trivia about the film's participants and details behind its many stunt sequences. All in all, The Heroin Busters is a solid disc and well worth the time for Euro-crime buffs."
