As the son of the village blacksmith, Taren was little different from other children. He worked and played and found time for a fair bit of mischief. It was a good, simple life, far from the troubles of the South. But when a village not far from their own is burnt to the ground, Taren begins to understand the world is not what he thought it once was. After an altercation with a nobleman leads to his banishment, Taren suddenly finds himself alone on the road, his meager possessions strapped to his back as he sets out to find a new place to call home. And in the back of his mind, his father's final warning echoes - "Stay out of the Forest."
