The Great God of Men: Reflections on the Path to Spiritual Maturity

This book is written with the hope of increasing our desire to respond to God's divine initiations with us, and to help us avoid the pitfalls that sabotage our ability to mature in Him. Modern-day Christianity has often been self-absorbed, prioritizing our comforts, rights, and blessings. The path to spiritual maturity, however, leads to a decreased self-obsession and an increased devotion to God. As we grow in faith, we increasingly understand the truth that He is the one and His name will be the only one (Zechariah 14:9). Therefore, this book is not written primarily about the great men of God in the Bible, but about the greatness of the God who called those men. For example, I am awed by the limitless patience of God in my own life in light of the countless self-centered decisions I have made. He has not allowed me to be destroyed by my willful and stubborn ways, nor has he given me up to the sin that I have so foolishly embraced. His mercy has triumphed over judgment countless times in my life, and His incredible faithfulness has begun to build in me a life of consistency in Him. My testimony is the same as a myriad of unknown believers throughout history, and it is my desire to write on their behalf.
