The author, Christopher Sjoblom, has been in law enforcement for over 18 years. Seven of those were as a big city cop in Las Vegas and the last 11 have been as a rural deputy in a small town in Northern Nevada. He went from a police force of approximately 2500 officers to an agency with approximately 30 deputies. It was a huge adjustment downshifting from a large metropolitan police force to a small rural agency where each deputy handles nearly all of the aspects of an investigation.
At the end of 2012, he and his wife of 22 years took a leap of faith to live a slower life in the country. It turned out to be a great decision and they never intend on living in the city again. His wife Liz makes a cameo in this book as she takes her turn at amateur animal control!
Being a deputy in a small rural town, Christopher has to wear a variety of "hats." One of these hats is amateur animal control when the actual animal control deputy is off-duty. Plenty of humor is injected into the anecdotes that document the dogs the author has saved over the years.
Enjoy!
