The Color of Cold and Ice

Mark, a struggling musician, kicked out of his apartment by his girlfriend, finds himself stranded in an offbeat coffee shop in Manhattan. Unbeknownst to Mark, his brother-in-law, John, a successful physician, questioning his life and marriage to Mark's sister, Allison, changes his routine and visits the coffee shop the same morning. Two sisters run the Java Bean Factory: Sybil, who sees the future, and Emerald, an artist raising a son on her own who hasn't painted since losing her husband in a freak accident. Even though Sybil foresaw Emerald's husband's death in a dream, she can't see why she and her husband can't conceive. Nor does she see the bleak medical prognosis awaiting her. Decisions have to be made as the fate of these two families merges through a series of coincidences: Van Gogh, a trip to Amsterdam, and the cold.
