The first six issues of Fox Features' comic series ZOOT COMICS were a mishmash of funny animal antics with some adventure tales. ZOOT COMICS #7 went in a different direction. The front cover, drawn by the amazing Jack Kamen, is the first appearance of Rulah, jungle goddess, with interior artwork potentially by Matt Baker. Rulah would rule over the title, ZOOT COMICS, until its eventual cancellation with issue #16. There is some interesting numbering towards the end of this series. There were two issues of #13 and two for issue #14. For this reason those issues are referred as issues #13a, 13b, 14a and 14b. This volume collects the six issues of #13a-16. Jane Dodge's airplane crashes in the jungle. Her clothes shredded, Jane creates an outfit comprised of giraffe hide and parachute cords. She then goes in search of people. After some altercations, the villagers of Towla have Jane fight a leopard to prove her worthiness, then designate her Rulah, their "jungle goddess". This book was compiled with the best images currently available. That stated, these comics are seventy years old. The best efforts have been made to make the pages as enjoyable as possible but not every panel is perfect and some allowances for the age of the books need to be considered when judging the overall contents.
