Christmas is shunned not only by various cults, but also by many Bible-believing Christians. The holiday is said to have pagan origins, to be a Roman Catholic "compromise," and/or to be a devilish scheme to lure believers into "Babylon" - the so-called harlot church system of Revelation! How much is truth, and how much is error, in the claims of the anti-Christmas crowd? Are Christians permitted to celebrate a day honoring Christ's birth, even if most historians reject a birthdate of December 25? What about Christmas trees and Santa Claus? Has the anti-Christmas crowd gone too far in separating themselves from believers who hold an opposite view? In The Christmas Controversy, the author relates his own journey into - and out of - the anti-Christmas doctrine, and attempts to show that it's possible (and preferable) for Christians to show patience with others concerning non-essentials like the holiday issue.
