The year 2007 was very difficult for author Pat Nolan. Her mother suffered complications from surgery, she experienced the unexpected loss of her beloved dog Nathan who had been there for her when she almost died in 2001, and Pat sustained serious injuries to her feet that resulted in months of intense, relentless pain and unanswered questions.
