When Nora and Ted decide to leave New York City and return to New Milford, Pennsylvania, they have to come to grips with their past and build a new future together. It's not easy, and they are happy that Jesse, their five-year-old daughter, has an invisible, make-believe friend in the toy room to distract and entertain her. But what if the friend isn't really invisible, or really make-believe? As Nora fights the recent past that haunts her, she is haunted by another past-the past of the boy in the toy room.
