The Book of Surreal Sadness

Child abuse, trauma, love, and an end to it all. The after-effects of abuse can change a person's life entirely and affect how they are able to deal with day-to-day life and relationships. A child goes through harsh abuse and is left to learn how to cope with it afterward. The effects bleed into their adulthood, causing a myriad of issues and deep despair to form. Momentarily, the person experiences relief through love from what they endured in their youth, but that too is brought to an unwanted and unfortunate end. Adding onto what misery already existed, the adult attempts to deal with new torturous feelings of heartbreak, distrust, and longing. The only solution that could be thought of is one they feel to be unforgivable and irredeemable. What choices are played out, and what path is laid for a broken soul?
