The Blacker the Berry, the Deeper Her Blues is the lyrical and poetically written narrative regarding the recurrently disregarded experiences of Women of Color. Written solely in prose poetry, this chapbook sheds light on the voices and stories many Black women do not get the opportunity to tell. Too often we are silenced, stereotyped, slighted, and shunned, and at times, it has broken our spirits. But this is our story, our gospel, made to heal our souls and inform those uninformed, that our stories will not go untold.
