Gorgas, Chief of Sanitation of the Panama Canal. A better man could not have been chosen. His achievements in the field of sanitation are not only unexcelled but they actually usher in a new era, by showing the possi bility of making the tropics habitable for white men. Dr. Gorgas is a man who has made history and in honoring him our great Association honors itself. We cannot say as much of some of the other emeers of the As sociation elected at this meeting.
