Director Annabel Jankel's romantic drama is an adaptation of British novelist Fiona Shaw's 2009 novel of the same name. A female doctor (Anna Paquin) risks social ostracization in 1950s small town Britain when she pursues a romantic relationship with the mother (Holliday Grainger) of her young patient.
