Private sector in Tanzania accounts for over 80 per cent of GDP of the economy. Most of the investments are owned by the private sector. Private sector investment however, has not been sufficient to guarantee rapid private sector growth. The low level of investment is partly accounted for by the low level of savings and access for finances to finance private investments. The private sector has been constrained by many factors relating to limited domestic credit provided by banking sector, inflation, liquid liabilities, lending rates and regulatory quality. The financial sector on the other had remains undiversified in terms of the financial products it offers. The private sector would gain most from the financial sector if the country continues to maintain a stable macroeconomic environment, strengthening the legal protection for creditors, effectively applying the laws and judicial systems, along with cementing the quality of financial and accounting standards. This book is very useful to financial researchers, financial analysts, financial institutions, policy makers, creditors and borrowers
