Trapped in a disabled van, Dan Stark finds himself surrounded by darkness concealing his enemy and igniting his imagination. A supernatural presence that, for years, had hovered on the fringe of his awareness also looms outside; as real as the black night engulfing that deserted country road, and as real as Mack, a demented psychopath, and his cohorts closing in on Dan's hapless traveling acting troupe.
