Two Labradors one from the city and one a trained gun dog live together with the Boss in a country village. Worthington thinks he is sophisticated and well bred; he regards Sam as a country bumpkin unfortunately most of the time he needs Sam to help him get to his two passions - food and ladies.The dogs are superlatives, humans uprights and cats inferiors. The book is a collection of short stories each one being another adventure for the two dogs.
